Payaso en Paseo

Growing up, I was enchanted by the clown performances at Mexican birthday parties for their audacious jokes and engaging activities. They may have looked like they were paid to make fools of themselves, but more often than not they made participants from the audience look silly.

I wanted to take the best parts of everyone and incorporate it into not just my performance but the fiber of my being as well. In my performance I asked the audience to write something they loved about themselves and then incorporate the notes into a blended smoothie. In this way, the performance connects both the subject and the viewer, creating an organic object/experience we both recall from then on.
